Marketers are tracking you online

NOTE: This post is old, and is probably on different subject matter than my current writing. It is possible the information is outdated or my opinions have changed. -- Josh Klein, May 28, 2012

The Wall Street Journal has a nice interactive introduction to how you’re being tracked online. If you don’t know that everyone from Apple.com to CNN.com builds a profile of your visit and sells it to advertisers, you should probably visit that link to learn more.

My point yesterday about Facebook winning the Internet is that comparing this kind of tracking to what Facebook can/will do is like comparing a smoke bomb to a nuke.
